Against the Grain Theatre
This November 2018, composer Kevin Lau digs deeper into Handel’s music—infusing new sounds and ideas into the backbone of Handel’s works. In the wake of the world’s refugee crisis, this workshop continues to explore the current state of those displaced, dehumanized and mistreated, with texts and stories drawn from real-life news articles and world events. #AtGBound is in its second workshop of a three-year “concept to realization” production. This year’s concert performance will feature a quartet of singers, chamber orchestra, and digital sound design by Acote.
Doors open a half hour before showtime. Rush line for non-ticket holders begins as early as 1 hour outside the venue. The performance begins at 8pm on November 19, November 20 and November 21.
Seating/Standing is assigned by section. Your ticket purchase will ensure you a spot in your section, and you will choose your seat when you arrive. No reservations, except media seats. But, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 647-367-8943 if you have any special seating concerns or questions. Accessible seating is available, and the venue is wheel-chair friendly.
#AtGBound is sung in English, with a new English libretto by Joel Ivany. The performance is 1.5 hours with no intermission.
