Romare (DJ Set) With Harrison

Embrace presents electronic musician Romare, with opening act Harrison, live in The Great Hall’s hidden gem, Longboat Hall.

While studying, Archie Fairhurst, the artist now known simply as Romare, came across the work of Romare Bearden. The African American’s collaged, cut-and-paste artwork of African-American life during the jazz age inspired the young British musician to apply a similar technique to music – an approach that was hugely fruitful, and remains central to his work today.

Romare’s debut album Projections was released to critical acclaim in the U.K. papers, and was chosen as DJ Mag’s album of the year. Having now toured the world, Romare has built a strong reputation as a live performer with an affection for his sources. His DJ skills have also seen his sets develop a cult following. His new album Love Songs Part 2 is taking his production to new levels and his full live band will be touring worldwide throughout 2017, bumping their way into your heart and soul.

Here is Romare’s Boiler Room DJ set to get you ready for the weekend in Toronto.

Hometown Toronto beatmaker and evolving musician Harrison opens for Romare at The Great Hall with his nostalgic, funk, soul and video game influenced brand of electronic music. Self-describing his sound as “electronic uplifting melancholy music,” this break-out Canadian sensation has over 30,000 followers on SoundCloud.
